There is not a week that goes by that I do not count my blessings that I finally took the plunge and started my own online business.  Did I face challenges along the way?  Absolutely!  Did I smash my head against the wall trying to figure out the “secret online formula?”  You bet I did (I still have the scars to prove it)!

However, eventually the fruits of my labor finally started to pay off!  I get to work from home, take my son to kindergarten, go on field trips with my daughters pre-school and be a wonderful husband to my wife.   This is exactly what your own small, successful business can do for you. But you do need a good basic business plan and that includes a good blog; a business can't survive and thrive without one. Don't worry too much about what you will write just get writing. You can make it a chatty blog or a more serious news and opinion blog such as Project Accelerator News; the main thing is to generate content as often as possible. I like to say daily content but, in reality, for a busy business that can be hard to achieve initially so start with weekly blogs.

I’m assuming you are reading this blog post because you are either trying to decide if blogging for your business is “right for you” or you are trying to figure out how to build a succesful business online.

When I Started Blogging

As mentioned above, I use my blog to make a full-time income.  I left Corporate America on September 2nd, 2011 and I’m never going back.  But before I discovered Wordpress I spent thousands of dollars and over one-hundred hours getting my personal blog set up.  It was incredibly stressful and working with a blog designer was comparable to sticking hot needles in my eyeballs.

When my blog was finally up and running I didn’t have a clue about SEO (search engine optimization), uploading photos, header tags, alt tags, keywords, social syndication, etc.  All of that “stuff” was completely Greek to me -  what in the world is an “alt tag?”

After lots of sleepless nights and dishing out more money on training courses, I finally understood that an “alt tag” was not a disease;  It was a way to tag an image with a keyword!  Brilliant!

Guess what?  With Wordpress you don’t have to worry about ANY of the geek stuff mentioned above.  In fact, completely forget that I even mentioned it.  When you use the WordPress blogging platform that is already set up for you, or is simple to set up yourself with plugins (add-ons).

If I's known about Wordpress when I started blogging I would have started using it instantly.  It would have saved me thousands of dollars, 12 bottles of Tylenol and I could have started making money the first day that I started blogging!

Create Your Own Blog

If you are looking to start a blog and make extra income online you have two paths that you can take:

Option A:  Spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours figuring out all of the “techie” nonsense garbage like I did (not recommended).

Option B:  Use Worpdress, start blogging and start making money through an affiliate program.

I have been building businesses online since 2002.  I have been a Gold Powerseller on eBay and I have sold nearly a million dollars worth of products online throughout the years.

In my opinion, it’s a “No-Brainer” if you are looking (or struggling) to start an Internet Business that you get a blog up and running to attrcat customers.

It’s time to make a change in your life!
